Recycling
Recycling is a key operation in the modern-day construction industry
and in recent years we have benefitted from our association with WRAP
(Waste Resources Action Program).
Waste demolition and excavation materials are processed to produce
aggregates for re-use in our projects. We can recycle materials off
site at one of our waste recycling depots or on site when site
programs and space permit. Aggregates are produced in accordance
with protocols to ensure that they achieve quality requirements
and cease to be classified as waste.
Waste soils are also recovered to production protocols whenever
possible at one of our waste recovery sites.
On all projects we produce site waste returns to assist in compliance
of site waste management plan targets. Early project involvement on
some schemes allows us to assist in compiling the site waste management plan.
We are licensed to operate the latest efficient recycling and waste
recovery plant including items listed below.
- Jaw crushers
- Impact crushers
- Chieftain 1400 and 1800 screens
- Warrior 1800 finger screens
- Commander 1400 screens
- Trommels
- Powergrids
These are all supplemented by the latest loading shovels, hydraulic excavators
ranging from 20t to 50t, dozers and dump trucks. Within each of our six recycling
centres are weighbridges, wheel washes and dust suppression units which as always
support our intention to limit our impact upon the environment.
